Survey Limited is an Irish based professional hydrographic and marine
geophysical firm, focused on providing turnkey survey and positioning
solutions for the offshore industry. Imar Survey has a unique combination
of experienced survey personnel combined with expertise in ship
management. Our team includes Hydrographic Surveyors, Geologists,
Geophysicists, Electronic Engineers, CAD experts, GIS Experts and IT
Specialists, with many decades of experience in offshore survey
applications. The Imar Survey Team are acknowledged as leading international experts in Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) definition and mapping. Our participation in the Irish National Seabed Survey (INSS) is well known and documented. This project, funded by the Irish government to €32m has been running over the past 7 years. It is the largest of survey of its type worldwide and has to date involved mapping some 450,000 square kilometers.
Techniques used during the INSS include, multibeam and single-beam echo sounding, sub-bottom profiling, magnetics, gravity, sidescan sonar, high-resolution 2D multi-channel seismics, refraction seismics as well as a variety of sampling, photography and video techniques. Data from this survey is running over 3.5 terra bytes. Imar personnel have been involved in all aspects of this work including project management, data acquisition, data processing, and the delivery of final product.
